Emsella Kegel Chair2020-12-14T10:26:43-05:00

The EMSELLA KEGEL CHAIR uses a patented, hi frequency focused electromagnetic waves to cause contractions of the ALL pelvic floor muscles.  After child birth and aging, the pelvic floor muscles lose tone and atrophy, leading to urinary leakage.  The EMSELLA KEGEL CHAIR causes these same muscles to strengthen and regain tone, thereby reducing or eliminating urinary leakage without surgery, medications, and eliminating the need for pads or liners.

The System

The Emsella Kegel Chair is a patented, high intensity focused electromagnetic energy delivery system. This type of energy causes the muscles of the pelvic floor to contract much more often and stronger than a woman can do on her own.  As a result of the strengthening of these muscles, the resting pelvic floor muscle tone increases and urinary leakage is reduced or eliminated with 2 weekly treatments over 3 weeks for a total of 6 treatments.

The Treatment

The Emsella Kegel Chair works by having the patient sit on a specialized chair through which hi intensity focused electromagnetic waves are delivered upward targeting the pelvic floor muscles and causing the equivalent of over 11000 Kegel contractions over a 30 minute treatment, while a patient remains fully clothed.  A series of  6 total treatments are required as shown by research studies, with some patients with severe incontinence needing a few additional treatments.

Emsella Kegel Chair is FDA approved for stress, urge, and mixed incontinence.

The Research

The Emsella Kegel Chair has shown 75% pad use reduction, 95% improvement in quality of life, and over 50% complete elimination of leakage

Emsella Kegel Chair FAQs

What does an Emsella treatment feel like?2021-04-10T12:11:02-05:00

The procedure is non-invasive and you just sit on the Emsella chair fully clothed and properly positioned. Once the 30-minute session has started you will experience tingling and pelvic floor muscles contracting.  It is completely painless, but some women may need some time to get used to the sensation of having pelvic floor muscles contract intensely and frequently during the session.

Is Emsella “Vaginal Rejuvenation”2021-04-10T10:02:57-05:00

Emsella is not a “vaginal rejuvenation” treatment.  It treats the pelvic floor muscles underneath the vagina and provides support.  These muscles stretch during vaginal deliveries, never regain full strength, and continue to weaken has a woman ages.   Emsella does have a number of “other benefits” such as increased sensitivity, increased arousal and desire, decreased dryness and painful intercourse, and increased orgasms and sexual satisfaction and can be combined with our Viveve treatment for a more complete female intimate restoration.

How long does an Emsella treatment take and how many treatments will I need?2021-04-10T10:13:30-05:00

A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes and you will need 6 sessions, scheduled twice a week for three weeks.  If your bladder leakage is severe we may recommend additional treatments, but as research studies have shown,  6 treatments achieves significant improvements and possible elimination of all leakage symptoms.

When will I see results after an Emsella treatment?2021-04-10T10:10:14-05:00

Some patients report an improvement in bladder control after one treatment. However, for most patients and as research studies have shown, the average treatment plan includes 6 treatments in total, with two sessions held weekly, for 3 weeks. As with any medical treatment, individual results may vary.
